F**K REGRET ...Sneak Preview:
INTRODUCTION FOR F**K REGRET
F**K Regret: A mindset defines who we are. It affects our confidence and impacts our decisions. It dictates our actions and whether or not we effectively pursue that which we desire most. It becomes the foundation for every thought and every action we take. The strength of a person’s mindset, more than anything else, will determine a person’s chance at success. Having a strong mindset allows you to withstand failure and loss. It will give you the confidence to see past skepticism and doubt. It gives you reason and purpose to everything you do. Possess a weak mindset however and doubt quickly replaces confidence and invades your thoughts anytime resistance enters your world. Failure will be seen not as a lesson, but as a reason to quit. Possess a weak mindset and you suddenly become that much more susceptible to crumble under the pressure of life’s challenges.
Your mindset is the foundation for everything you do. When it is well built, its strength can withstand any amount of weight placed on top of it. A weak mindset, just like a weak foundation however, will crumble when that same pressure is applied. If you want to build anything of value that will last the test of time, the most important thing you can do is make sure that the foundation upon which it is built is a mile deep.
This book, F**K Regret is that foundation.
It will become the platform for everything that you build. It will be the foundation that will not only give you the strength to withstand failure and loss but welcome them because of the knowledge they accompany. It will give you the confidence to push forward when all onlookers doubt you. It will be that which gives you purpose and direction to everything you do. And while a strong mindset is what will lead you down a path of success, I assure you none of it is possible without one very important ingredient. People. And more specifically, the strength of the people you surround yourself with.
Success is an impossible feat without help, guidance, coaching, and support from others. It is why surrounding yourself with people that make you better, that embody positivity, that hold you accountable, that challenge you, and that support and encourage you is of paramount importance. The strength of your foundation, and in turn the chances for your success, will be directly correlated to the type of people you choose to keep by your side. For it is the people closest to us who will not only have the biggest impact on our lives, but who also give us purpose. It is them who have the power to inspire us to pursue our dreams and passions. It is the people who we surround ourselves with who help forge the mindset that will be the foundation for everything we do. It is the people who we surround ourselves with who can inspire us.
Inspiration is the positive influence or impact a person, idea, or thing has on an individual or group.
For most people that inspiration is drawn from other people and their actions. That means that where we draw inspiration from, more often than not, is directly tied to our relationships and whom we surround ourselves with. People and the relationships we form with one another are what give us purpose. They are what drive and inspire us. Business, the economy, and our culture are determined by human interaction. Our relationships impact our actions, influence our lives, and affect everything from our business to our personal life. In short, our relationships not only dictate our lives on an individual basis but on a cultural level as well.
DEDICATION FOR F**K Regret
No business, no country, no economy, and no one person succeeds without the guidance, support, and help of others. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or has a completely misguided sense of reality. My story is no different and throughout the course of my life I have sought guidance and help from others. I have been inspired by amazing people without them ever knowing. I have seen and felt love, heartache, success, failure, and struggle. I have learned from all of my experiences and become stronger because of them. This is precisely why I would like to take a second to say thank you to all the people who have helped me throughout my journey as author for this book, F**K Regret. I would like to thank those who give me motivation and purpose. I want to thank those who have helped me define my legacy.
Firstly, to both my parents, without whom I would not be the man I am today. To my mother for instilling in me compassion for others. For showing me not only what unconditional love looked like, but also what strength and perseverance was as a working single mother. You somehow balanced working full time while raising two kids. You took us to school, helped with homework, cooked, cleaned, and did everything else to run a household all without ever breaking a sweat or complaining. To my father for never allowing me to settle for less than my best. For teaching me what true work ethic really is. For being tough on me when it was necessary and there for me when I needed guidance.
To my friends for your constant and undying support.
Even if there were times you were uncertain of the risks I was taking, you were always there for me. To my business mentors who impacted my life when you probably didn't even know it. To the entire staff at Afterburn Fitness, we would not be where we are today without the contributions of each and every one of you. You are constantly raising the bar and you continue to amaze me day in and day out. Finally, to my wife who is surely my better-half. Not only are you beautiful on the outside, but even more so on the inside. You will probably never know the impact you have had on my life, but know that it is unparalleled. I cannot thank you enough for your constant trust, support and encouragement. You are my rock, and everything I do, I do for you.
This book is for all the people who have impacted my life. This book is for those who have inspired me and continue to do so on a daily basis. This book is for the naysayers and doubters. You fuel my fire more than you will ever know. Not just because it gives me motivation to work even harder, but because maybe once you see it’s possible you will realize that not only could I do it, but you can too. I only hope that this book can in some way repay all those who have helped shape who I am today. I hope that this book in some way inspires you to chase your dreams.
This book is about relationships and the power they hold.
This book is for all those looking for inspiration. It’s for those looking to better themselves just as I look to better myself each and every day. This book is about giving back. This book is about defining your legacy. It’s about developing the mindset and foundation required not just for you to achieve your goals and dreams, but to dare to dream in the first place. But most of all, it is about inspiring others to do the same.
